Last year with the growing requests for window service and repair, we decided to add to our Great team. Meet Cody Curler.
Cody is a native Oregonian and has experience in the construction industry. He will be heading out to most of Great Northern’s Service and Repair calls, and he’s got a knack for great customer service. Even just after a few weeks, our customers have been very pleased with the attention to detail, and the pleasant experience working with Cody and Great Northern.
There are many window and door issues that Cody can help you with. Most of the time we get calls about windows with broken seals. This is when the window gets fogged up.
In many cases, the glass unit can be removed and a new one put back in the frame. This obviously saves money, and is much faster and simpler than replacing the whole window. The best frames for glass replacement are vinyl, wood and fiberglass.
Other window service and repair issues include broken balancers. You know you have a balancer issue when your window won’t open or close easily or at all. Balancers are located in the frame of the window, and their purpose is to counter balance the weight of the window. This makes for ease in opening and closing the window. Luckily, replacing balancers is fairly easy, depending of course on your brand of window. If you are looking to replace your own balancers, we have a balancer replacement video to aid in that.
But of course our experts at Great Northern have the knowledge and capability to fix these for you.
Another common window service and repair request we get relates to Sliding Glass Doors. Time can take a toll on sliding glass doors, especially if they are in a high traffic area. Some of the issues that arise are difficulty opening and closing, broken handles or locks, and failed glass units, causing foggy glass. On many occasions these issues can be easily fixed, saving the time and money of replacing an entire sliding glass door. Rollers, handles, locks, or glass units can be ordered and replaced in a timely manner.
That’s just what we do. Problem solved.
